La Presentosa - Interactive Cookbook
THE PROJECT //
In pre-industrial society, female identity was represented through the display of ornament. This testimony comes to us from the great artists of the Abruzzo "realism" of the late nineteenth century, who with the pictorial restitution recognized a historical value to the repertoire of Abruzzo jewels. The present, notched jewel in gold and filigree, can be defined as a symbol of the Abruzzo woman because it represents her social identity. The project conceived by WOO_mezzometroquadro - a group of students from the Pescara Department of Architecture takes its name from this jewel. The presentosa - interactive recipe book was created to bring the personalities who contribute to the culinary identity of the region into the context of a global event like that of ExpoMilano2015. The scene of this project, in fact, is not that of a restaurant and does not have starred chefs as protagonists, but real women, or rather the grandmothers, irreplaceable witnesses of gastronomic memory. The grandmothers tell their recipes giving life to a real "narrative notebook" and it will be the young hands of the new generation to give it a new reading. Through a QRcode the grandmother's face comes to life by retracing the process of the best traditional dishes of the region with her own voice. The miller, the blue tits, the coratella, the cioffe, the fiadoni, gnocchetti and chickpeas, the lamb with cheese and egg, are just a small part of the menu that the land of Abruzzo presents to us thanks to its witnesses. The seven ladies were proud to be able to open their kitchens, the same ones that every day make us proud of who we are and every day, at noon, of what we eat.
The project develops according to two exhibitions.
The face of the grandmother with the application of a QR code, from which it is possible to animate her voice to listen to the recipe.
